Battle at Kruger AND Mary's commentary below

When I saw this youtube a couple years ago, I saw a spiritual picture…

a) the baby buffalo represents a child of God

b) the lions and crocodile represent Satan and his demons

c) the buffalo herd represent the body of Christ

The baby made a mistake by not staying near the herd so he was vulnerable. We need to stay close to each other as the body or Christ. “Where two or more are gathered”, “three strands are better than two”, “there is power in number”…etc.. He was also a baby and not very strong yet to fight off the enemy. “Satan goes around like a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour”. The lions saw he was away from the flock and that make him weak.

The lions and croc thought that they had him and were going to devour him for lunch. At this point, the baby was dead and he had no way out. However, the herd of buffalo saw one of their own about to be devoured so they ALL went to rescue the baby. The herd outnumbered the lions so they were powerless. We (the body of Christ) can fight for ours family members who are facing deaths door. But unlike those buffalo, we have The One who conquered death and the grave living IN us! Satan and his demons have to flee just at the name of Jesus! How much more powerful are we when we all pray in one accord for one purpose? From the physical sense, Dad is like that baby buffalo; it looks like he doesn’t have a chance but then the body of Christ (warriors) are coming to fight off the enemy who is trying to steal him from the body of Christ and his earthly family. We have to have warriors who are not afraid, who are full of the Holy Spirit, who can fight off several hungry lions. We have that group praying for Bill right now. Did you notice that baby buffalo gets up and WALKS away when seconds before he was in the mouth of a crocodile and several lions? It took a herd of determined buffalo to fight for just one of their own. We all need that fight in us that this herd had.

God brought this video back to my memory last night as I was praying. I don’t think it was a coincidence either. He wanted to let me know that this was a fight and that it was going to take a body fighting together to take back what is ours. I never thought of Dad as representing the baby buffalo until now. It looks like he is in the mouth of the enemy about to be devoured but he’s kicking and fighting with The Word but he needs the body of Christ to help him as he is tired and weak but his spirit is still strong and has a fight. We all need each other and we all have our battles to fight, Bill’s is just one of illness. That’s why Paul says we need to “bear one another’s burdens”.. We are all one in this; when one is hurting, we all hurt.

Thanks for fighting.

Love,

Mary

  1. Mary, what an awesome account of the power of prayer and the power behind groups of believers interceding on behalf of a brother in Christ. We love you guys and will pray harder than ever for Bill. I was talking to another good friend a couple months ago, and she said that Bill has been on her mind so much and we stopped and prayed for him on the phone.
