Thank you, everyone for the love and concern you’ve shown our family. Mary and the girls (Lauren & Leah) have great faith. Their faith and love and that of my family and friends, has sustained me during this 14 struggle with ALS. Part of me feels almost guilty for having survived this long with a disease that takes most victims in 3 to 5 years. But the rational part of me knows that my death wouldn’t lessen the grief of those who’ve lost loved ones to ALS and my longevity might bring hope to those now dealing with this horrible disease. Regardless, it isn’t really about me because everyone experiences difficult life-challenges and the severity of my trial doesn’t minimize the trials of others.
I know many of you that are praying for me are also going through various trials and I believe these trials have made you more humble and empathetic, as this trial has also done to me. So, while you’re praying for me, I will also be praying for you. Many of you know and love Mark Ragusa. Like me, Mark has a beautiful wife and two beautiful daughters that love him very much. I wish our similarities ended there, but recently Mark and Angela told us that he was diagnosed with ALS. Today (October 4th) is Mark’s birthday; please include him in your prayers. Again, thank you all for everything you’ve done and are doing for us.
We appreciate and love you,
Bill
Bill,
ReplyDeleteOn the occasion of your 50th birthday today, you should know that the grace and inspiration God shows us through you and Mary is life-changing and love-affirming to all those around you. It is clear that you have a heart that God can do wonderous things through --- we are all His vessels, but few are those who have the sails that can catch the breath of hope and salvation, as you have for all of us. God bless you on this milestone birthday, brother. With the love and gratitude of all...
Ed
I love you so much Uncle Ed.
